Swachh Bharat 4.0

The ‘Swabhav Swachhata & Sanskar Swachhta’ program was observed in APS Birpur Pry Wg from 17 Sep- 01 Oct 2024. The event was a prelude to the Swachh Bharat Diwas on 2 Oct 2024. Different activities were conducted for different classes under this program such as Essay Writing Competition, Poster Making Competition, English debate and Drawing Competition.

CBSE Cluster Football (UNDER 14, 17 & 19)

The APS Birpur Boys’ Football Team participated in the CBSE Cluster Tournament held at UMA Public School, Noida, from 20 to 26 Sep 2024. Over 100 teams competed in different category. The Under-17 and Under-19 teams of APS Birpur performed very well and reached the Pre-Quarter Final, while the Under-14 team played the Quarter Final.

Art Competition

Under the campaign of Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, an Art competition initiated by Ministry of Power, Government of India was conducted on 26 Sep 2024 in the Pry Wg. 16 students of cl V participated in this competition based on the theme of ‘Energy Conservation and Environment Protection’. Himanshu Mewada of cl V C bagged the first position.

Veer Gatha Project 4.0

Veer Gatha Project was conducted in Army Public School Birpur, Pry Wg on 27 Sep 2024. Total 119 students participated in this competition. Under this competition, students of cl III - V had to paint/draw on the suggested topics. Himanshu Mewada of cl V C bagged the first position.

Special Assembly on Gandhi Jayanti

On 01 Oct 2024 Army Public School, Birpur conducted special assembly on ‘Gandhi Jayanti’. The assembly began with the prayer followed by pledge, thought and news. The students of Manekshaw House presented poem, song and speech on Gandhi Jayanti. On this day Gandhi was remembered for his contributions towards the Indian freedom struggle.

Bagless Day

APS Birpur observed ‘Bagless Day’ for the month of October from 3 to 5 Oct 2024 for the students of Cl VI - VIII respectively. All the students participated wholeheartedly and thoroughly enjoyed the activities conducted for them.

1st S.P Sinha Memorial Basketball Tournament

Basketball team of APS Birpur participated in the 1st S.P. Sinha Memorial Basketball Tournament 2024, held at the Indian Public School, Dehradun from 03 -0 5 Oct 2024. Our school played well and reached the quarter-finals.

Science Week

Army Public Birbur celebrated Science week under the theme “Antriksh Jigyasa” Exploring Space, from 03 - 10 Oct 2024. Introduction to the schedule of weeklong celebration was given during the assembly.

PRARAMBH 2.0 - The Career Carnival

On 5 Oct 2024, Army Public School, Birpur, organized its much-anticipated career fest, "PRARAMBH 2.0 – The Career Carnival", aimed at guiding students of Cl XI - XII in making informed career choices. The event took place at the Birpur Auditorium . The fest saw participation from various renowned universities, including Graphic Era, DIT, Parul University, and Chandigarh University , Lovely Professional University etc.

The Inter-School CBSE Sahodaya Badminton Tournament

The Inter-School CBSE Sahodaya Badminton Tournament 2024-2025 was held at Doon Heritage School from 08-10 Oct 2024. Mast. Rishabad Thapa, Rishu, Rohit, and Piyush Rawat represented the school.

Special Assembly on Dussehra

To celebrate Dusshera, a special assembly was conducted by Manekshaw House on 10 Oct 2024. The assembly began with a speech by Nitya Thapa of cl IV B emphasizing the significance of Dussehra.. The students and teachers also wrote one bad habit on a chit paper that they want to get rid of and burnt it with the effigies of Ravana.

Visit to Asha School

Five students of APS Birpur from Cl VII along with one teacher visited the Asha School, Birpur on 18 Oct 2024, under the project ‘Asha Milap.’ The students of both the school participated in Diya decoration and Candle making activity. Our students spent one hour in the Skill Development Centre and assisted the students of Asha School in the activity. It was a learning experience for the students.

Budding Writers, October 2024

Three students of APS Birpur achieved a milestone having published their poetic writings on Bribooks.com/india a website for budding young talents, organized by the Young Authors Fair 2024 providing a platform to get their creative writings published and even to sell them. Pragya Mehra of Cl XII E published her collection of poems entitled ‘Our Life Story’. Jhanvi of Cl VI D published her book entitled ‘Good Habits and Good Routine’. Ishita Bora of Cl X D also achieved the feat with her book entitled ‘Allura’. The hard copy of these books will soon be available for readers.

Annual Sports Day, 22-23 Oct 2024

APS Birpur celebrated its Annual Sports Day on 22 & 23 Oct 2024, with great zeal ,fervour and enthusiasm. The theme for this mega event of the year was ‘Ujjwal- Sprint towards Drug Free India’.

NCB Drug Campaign

NCB undertook a campaign for collective commitment to make our youth and society drug-free and to foster a positive environment in our schools. APS Birpur joined the campaign to spread awareness about the menace of substance abuse. APS Birpur promoted the awareness programme “Say Yes to Life, No to Drugs.” Most students participated enthusiastically in activities like essay writing, poster making, and e-card making competitions. Additionally, students took the e-pledge against drug abuse initiated by NCB.

9th Junior National Rugby 7s Championship

The 9th Junior National Rugby 7s Championship 2024 for U18 Girls was held at Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Mhalunge, Balewadi, Pune, Maharashtra, on 19 & 20 Jun 2024. In this event, two students from APS Birpur, Yamini and Yogita from cl XI, had the opportunity to participate. Team Uttarakhand got the 12th position.

10th International Yoga Day

On the occasion of 10th International Yoga Day on 21 Jun 2024, APS Birpur celebrated the day with full excitement and enthusiasm. The Principal, students, parents and Admin staff actively participated on this day. Children were made aware about the benefits of Yoga. They started with Surya Namaskar and then followed several Aasanas and Pranayamas

ATC (Advanced Training Camp)

From 24 Jun to 3 Jul 2024, 13 students from APS Birpur participated in the ATC Camp held at SBS Batwala in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The students were engaged in extensive training and activities, gaining valuable experiences and skills. The camp offered a unique opportunity for personal growth and team-building.

9th Junior National Rugby 7s Championships

The 9th Junior National Rugby 7s Championships 2024 for U18 boys was held at Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Mhalunge, Balewadi, Pune, Maharashtra, on 25 & 26 Jun 2024. In this event, two students from APS Birpur, Ayush Bist of cl XI E and Lalit Mohan of cl XII F had the opportunity to participate. Team Uttarakhand got the 16th position.

Inter-Class Fireless Cooking

An Inter-Class Fireless Cooking competition was conducted on 5 Jul 2024 for cl I – V. Cl I & II did salad decoration, cl III prepared peanut chaat, cl IV prepared corn chaat and the students of cl V prepared sandwiches. Dishes were judged on taste, nutrition and presentation by esteemed judges Ms Sangeeta Limbu, Ms Reeta Chauhan and Ms Parul Rawat. They interacted with the budding chefs to find out the ingredients of the recipes, nutritional value and their presentation style. The event not only provided a platform for the students to foster their creativity and decisionmaking skills but also helped them explore their hidden talents and discover new areas of interest.

Inter-house Senior Basketball Competition

The Sr Boys Inter-House Basketball Competition was held at APS Birpur on 5 & 9 Jul 2024. All house teams played well against each other, with Raina House emerging victorious, Thimayya House securing second place, and Vaidya House taking third place.

Inter-House Chess Competition

An Inter-House Chess Competition was organized for the students of cl IX - XII on 5 & 9 Jul 2024. Each house was represented by one boy and one girl. In the boys' category, Vaidya House emerged victorious, while in the girls' category, Manekshaw House emerged as the winner."

Book Review

APS Birpur organized a Book Review Activity on 9 Jul 2024, aimed at promoting healthy reading habits among students from cl VI - XII. The activity required students to submit a book review of the book they have recently read. A specific format was provided to ensure uniformity and clarity in the reviews.

Felicitation Ceremony

APS Birpur conducted a Felicitation Ceremony for the toppers of Class X and XII of the 2023-24 session on 11 Jul 2024. The ceremony was held at Birpur Auditorium. Pramerica Life Insurance Limited also honoured the meritorious students with scholarships under the Prahri scheme. The scholarships and certificates were presented to the winners by Mrs. Rashmi Singh, Chairperson, FWO Birpur.
